The question of organicity - the capacity of each living being to change, to adapt, to remain in its identity but transforming it to the circumstances, adapting it and assimilating other identities, other circumstances – is continuously present in my work. Can the practice of painting refer to a space, that is not only the space of flatness or the architectural space but the space of the bodies that perceive and sense the world collectively?
Recently I have conceived what I call „an active painting“, a practice that is invested in activating painting not only to be seen but to appeal directly to the spectator, appeal to touch, appeal to the idea of refuge, of volume, of an interiority of which we can all be a part. My work is a body in transition that needs all bodies to remain alive.
